Robin van Persie: We could have stayed calmer against Fenerbahçe
Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie said after the defeat to Fenerbahçe, "We could have stayed calmer; we lacked that."
In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, Dutch side Feyenoord were defeated 5-2 away by Fenerbahçe.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie emphasized that despite being prepared, it was not enough to win the match, stating, "We could have stayed calmer when we had the ball. We lacked that. We were not bad defensively. Fenerbahçe were opportunistic and created good chances from set-pieces. They countered well. Otherwise, I cannot say we failed defensively."
"FENERBAHÇE HAS A SPECIAL PLACE FOR ME"
Regarding the question about the yellow-navy fans calling him to the stands, the Dutch manager replied, "I heard the fans calling me and I was very happy. Fenerbahçe has a special place for me. I would like to wish Fenerbahçe success in the future."
