Romanian tennis player Simona Halep appeals doping ban!
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has appealed her 4-year ban for violating anti-doping rules.
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, who received a 4-year ban for violating anti-doping rules, has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
According to the statement made by CAS, the appeal requests that the ban imposed on the tennis player last month be overturned or that the 4-year duration be reduced.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced the decision last month regarding the 32-year-old tennis player, who had been under a provisional suspension since October 2022 following a positive test for the banned blood-boosting substance "roxadustat" at last year's US Open, and it was noted that Halep, a former world number 1 with 2 Grand Slam titles in her career, had been sentenced to a 4-year ban.
