Ronny Deila: 'We want to finish first in the group'

Club Brugge manager Ronny Deila answered questions from the press at Tüpraş Stadium ahead of their UEFA Europa Conference League Group D matchday 5 encounter against Beşiktaş tomorrow.

Mentioning that some injuries and suspensions in the squad have ended, Deila stated, "There are different players who will play. Some haven't been able to train yet, but they can still play. As a team, we want to put on a good performance with the players coming in."

Expressing that their goal is to win, Deila said, "Becoming group winners is our main goal. We want to win this match and advance to the next round. If we beat Beşiktaş, we will finish first. They have a new manager and haven't lost yet. We want to progress in the league and in Europe simultaneously this season. That is why we will be balanced in our player selections."

Stating that the departure of the club's general manager Vincent Mannaert is sad for them, Deila said, "He contributed a lot to us. We must bid him farewell in a good way. He will stay with us until the end of the season. We can benefit from him. We will look at how to fill his void during the season."

"Hans is a quality player, but we have other players in our squad"

Speaking about captain Hans Vanaken not playing in the match, Deila assessed, "We can be successful without our captain. Hans is a quality player, but we have other players in our squad. We can put a new player in Hans's position or change the formation."

Sharing his views on the weather and the pitch, Deila said, "I saw the downpour outside. Since I haven't been on the pitch yet, I don't know how the surface is. I am glad the match is not today. According to the weather forecast, there doesn't seem to be a problem for tomorrow, but we need to be careful in training today."
