Samet Akaydin explains why he went to Greece
Samet Akaydin, whom Fenerbahçe loaned to Panathinaikos, has explained the reason for signing with the Greek giant. Akaydin stated that he went to Panathinaikos in order to play in EURO 2024.
Fenerbahçe loaned Samet Akaydin to Panathinaikos during the mid-season transfer window with a 4 million Euro purchase option. The national team center-back has explained the reason for signing with the Greek side.
SAMET AKAYDIN'S EURO 2024 GOAL
Explaining that he went to Panathinaikos in order to play in EURO 2024, Samet Akaydin said, "I came to Panathinaikos because it is a club where I can play regularly and thus increase my chances of being selected for EURO 2024."
Touching upon the comparison of his performance at Fenerbahçe and in the national team, Akaydin stated, "I feel more comfortable in the national team. I think I reveal my true player identity better there."
