Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım reacts to referee decisions
Following the 0-0 draw against Fenerbahçe, Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım harshly criticized the referee's decisions. He stated that despite VAR intervening twice, the incidents were not properly evaluated.
In the 8th week of the Süper Lig, Samsunspor drew 0-0 away against Fenerbahçe. After the match, Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım voiced his criticisms regarding the referee's decisions. Yıldırım argued that despite VAR intervention, certain incidents were not evaluated and the referee made erroneous calls.
VAR ERRORS AND PENALTY INCIDENT
Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım expressed his complaints regarding VAR intervening twice during the match. Stating, "It went to VAR twice, and he didn't give it," Yıldırım added, "The ball hit the hand; there was definitely a handball there. The incident was shown once, and it was clearly a handball." Yıldırım also noted that a penalty should have been awarded for an incident involving Fenerbahçe defender Skriniar.
"OH WELL, 1 POINT IS GOOD FOR US"
Despite his criticisms of the referee's decisions, Yüksel Yıldırım praised the effort shown by his team. Yıldırım emphasized the need for a broader discussion on the matter, saying, "Of course we are sad about the draw, but we are also happy to have come away with one point. I am not complaining, but please talk about the referee a lot tonight, please. Talk about it for our sake."
Recalling the match against Galatasaray last season officiated by Halil Umut Meler, Yıldırım said, "We experienced similar things last year. Halil Umut Meler did not give us a penalty in the match we lost 3-2 against Galatasaray." Expressing his doubts about the accuracy of the referees' decisions, Yıldırım remarked, "There was a foul in the goal we conceded, and the same things happened today."
