In the first leg of the UEFA Conference League Round of 16, Samsunspor was defeated 3-1 at home by Spanish representative Rayo Vallecano, putting their chances of advancing in jeopardy.
Our representative's goal was scored by Mouandilmadji in the 21st minute. The goals that brought victory to the visiting team were scored by Alemao in the 15th and 78th minutes, and by Alvaro Garcia in the 40th minute.

ABSENCES WERE NOTED
Afonso Sousa, Jaures Assoumou, and Bedirhan Çetin, who continue to struggle with injuries, were unable to play for Samsunspor against Rayo Vallecano. Yalçın Kayan and Elayis Tavsan, whose names were not included in the list submitted to UEFA, were also left out of the squad.

Approximately 21 thousand red-and-white fans followed the match from the stands. Rayo Vallecano fans partially filled the away team section.

On the other hand, A National Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella also took his place in the stands to watch the match.
The return leg of the match will be played on Thursday, March 19, at 23.00.
