Penalty protest from Santos: It's not being awarded for the 3rd time
Beşiktaş manager Fernando Santos said after the 1-0 loss to Galatasaray: "For the 3rd time, a penalty for Beşiktaş is not being awarded. Today, Cenk had another penalty situation. At the same time, Colley's red card is very suspicious. Cenk's penalty was clearer, but VAR did not call."
In the 28th week of the Süper Lig, Beşiktaş hosted Galatasaray in the derby. The Yellow-Reds won the match 1-0 with a goal scored in the second minute and rose to the top of the league again.
Beşiktaş manager Fernando Santos made statements after the match.
In his statement, Fernando Santos said: "We started the match 1-0 down. We conceded an early goal. Things don't get easy when you concede goals like that. We found some opportunities afterwards. In the second half, we tried not to give our opponent space. We had 3-4 clear chances. Our fans are not happy, I am not happy. We tried very hard, but it didn't happen."
FERNANDO SANTOS: "FOR THE 3RD TIME, A PENALTY FOR BEŞİKTAŞ WAS NOT AWARDED"
Continuing his remarks, the experienced manager said: "For the 3rd time, a penalty for Beşiktaş is not being awarded. Today, Cenk had another penalty situation. At the same time, Colley's red card is very suspicious. Cenk's penalty was clearer, but VAR did not call. For Colley, the VAR referee called for a review. Cenk's situation is definitely a penalty. It was also not awarded in the Adana Demirspor and Sivasspor matches. The VAR intervention in Omar's situation is very suspicious. I don't like making excuses about these issues, but I don't want our rights to be violated."
Santos added: "As long as Beşiktaş continues to play like today, we will improve as a team."
