The 2034 FIFA World Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia will offer a different atmosphere for fans. The host country has announced that alcohol sales will be strictly prohibited throughout the tournament.

BANNED THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, INCLUDING HOTELS AND STADIUMS

According to the decision confirmed by the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, the alcohol ban will not be limited to stadiums. Alcohol will not be served in hotels or anywhere else in the country.

"WE WILL NOT CHANGE OUR CULTURE"

Speaking to the British press, Saudi Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud said, "Every country has its own unique culture. We are happy to welcome our guests, but we do not intend to change our culture for others."

SIMILAR BANS WERE IN PLACE IN QATAR

The issue of alcohol was also debated in Qatar, which hosted the 2022 World Cup. The Qatari administration only allowed fans to consume alcohol in specific hotels and fan zones, while banning sales in stadiums entirely.
