Self-criticism from Galatasaray's Torreira after Trabzonspor defeat: Our mistakes cost us dearly
Following Galatasaray's 4-0 loss to Trabzonspor, Lucas Torreira took responsibility and said, "It is time to get back up."
In the 6th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Galatasaray was defeated 4-0 away by Trabzonspor. After the match, Lucas Torreira of the yellow-reds evaluated the defeat and stated that they must take responsibility as a team.
In his post-match statement, Torreira noted that the result was heavy for them. The Uruguayan footballer said, "The mistakes we made cost us dearly. I wanted to come here with my head held high and have this conversation. Just as we show ourselves when we win, we must come out here and face it when we lose."

Emphasizing that the team would analyze their mistakes, Torreira said, "I take responsibility as a team. We take responsibility as a team. We will think about this match; we are at the beginning of the league. We will examine our mistakes in this match. It was a painful loss. However, we are still at the beginning of the league. We will fight better."
Expressing his happiness at being called up to the national team, Torreira also stated that he was saddened by not being able to participate in the World Cup. The experienced midfielder, who noted that they were sad due to the defeat, said he was happy to wear the jersey.

At the end of his statement, Torreira also thanked the fans and gave the following message: "Now it is time to get back up. We are very sad. We came here as the defending champions but suffered a major loss. We need to make our fans proud. Our fans supported us again. I thank them. We need to lift our heads and continue."
