Sentences announced in the attack on a Galatasaray fan and his daughter!
Prison sentences ranging from 12 years and 6 months to 26 years and 3 months have been requested for 7 suspects accused of beating a father and his daughter following the Galatasaray Daikin-Nilüfer Belediyespor match in the Volleyball Sultanlar League.
The Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed its investigation into allegations that Galatasaray fans Kemal Metinel, Uğur İris, and his daughter Emine Nil İris were beaten following the Galatasaray-Nilüfer Belediyespor match played at the Üsküdar Burhan Felek Sports Hall on April 5.
The prepared indictment states that the father and daughter were attacked by an organized group of fans as they were leaving the match, and that the attacking group attempted to seize a bag and a pouch in the complainants' possession containing flags and banners belonging to the Galatasaray Sports Club.
The indictment describes how the suspects attacked and kicked the victim, Emine Nil İris, and notes that during the scuffle, the complainant Uğur İris sustained injuries that could be treated with simple medical intervention.
The indictment reports that the suspects acted in unity of intent and action.
In the indictment, it was requested that the suspects Arda Yürükon, Hakan Burak Aynur, Muhammed Barış Özdabakoğlu, Muhammed Talha Paksoy, Muhammed Ziya Polat, Selim Kıraç Ehvan, and Yakup Budak each be sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison for the crime of "robbery committed collectively by more than one person."
The suspects were also requested to be sentenced to 2 years and 6 months to 11 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of "attempted robbery committed collectively by more than one person."
The indictment has been sent to the Anadolu High Criminal Court for evaluation.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the investigation launched regarding the incident that occurred after the match played at the Üsküdar Burhan Felek Sports Hall on April 5, it was determined that the suspects had beaten Uğur İris and kicked Emine Nil İris.
Of the 7 suspects taken into custody, 3 were arrested, while 4 were released under judicial control conditions.
The 3 arrested suspects were later released under judicial control conditions following an appeal by their lawyers.
