Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı has called for the leagues to be suspended following the discovery that referees and club officials were involved in betting, and the detention of 7 Central Referee Board (MHK) members, including MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu, as well as active Süper Lig referee Yasin Kol and active Süper Lig assistant referee Göktuğ Hazar Erel.
Speaking as a guest on TRT Spor, Adalı made the following statements:
"If necessary, let the leagues be suspended for another 2 weeks. Something has been started. Whatever needs to be done, however it needs to be cleaned up, let everything be done completely.
After that, let us not talk about this again."
"This matter needs to be pursued to the very end. Everything, whatever there is, must be cleaned up down to the finest detail.
This is my expectation. I want this not just for Beşiktaş, but for Turkish football.
I sincerely believe that what is necessary will be done."
