Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı announced in a statement regarding the club's financial situation that Koç Holding Honorary Chairman Rahmi Koç has provided significant support to the black-and-white club.
Speaking during a live broadcast on A Spor, Adalı stated that half of the 80 million euro payment made as part of Beşiktaş's 120 million euro debt to the Banks Association was covered by Rahmi Koç.
In his statement on the matter, Adalı said, "Rahmi Koç paid approximately 40 million euros of Beşiktaş's 120 million euro debt to the Banks Association."
Stating that the remaining portion of the payment was covered by the club's management, Adalı said, "Half of the 80 million euros we paid to the Banks Association was covered with the support of Mr. Rahmi, and the other half was covered by our management."
Adalı also noted that Beşiktaş is conducting sponsorship negotiations to overcome financial difficulties and argued that the expected support from the community has not been forthcoming. Adalı evaluated the process with the words, "We have not seen the necessary support from the community regarding sponsorship. It is not happening; no one is providing support except for Rahmi Koç."
