Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı made statements regarding the Dusan Vlahovic transfer process. Adalı stated that they were determined to sign the Serbian striker from the beginning and that, following evaluations with head coach Vincenzo Italiano, they did not want to turn to any other striker candidate.
Speaking to A Spor, Adalı noted that the name Vlahovic stood out when the transfer lists were shared with the technical staff, and that Italiano had warned him that this transfer could take time. Adalı expressed that during that meeting, he said, "I will wait. If we are going to sign a striker, let's sign him; let's not look at anyone else."
Adalı stated that Italiano working at Beşiktaş created a significant advantage in terms of transfer negotiations. The president of the black-and-white club explained that at the beginning of the process, he told the head coach that he was ready to meet the financial terms if he could convince the player.
Emphasizing that the offers received by Vlahovic were effective in prolonging the transfer, Adalı said, "There wasn't a club that didn't make an offer to Dusan. Every offer that came pushed us back three or five days. Juventus never left the table. Until the last minute, until the last week."
Serdal Adalı stated that despite all these developments, he did not lose hope that Vlahovic would come to Beşiktaş. Expressing that the process progressed positively after his meeting with the player in Belgrade, Adalı said, "I was very hopeful that he would come. After we sat down and talked with him in Belgrade, I think we got on the plane and came back the next day."
