Serdal Adalı: We want to start the second half with foreign VAR

Beşiktaş Club President Serdal Adalı, regarding the performance of referee Kadir Sağlam and VAR referee Halil Umut Meler in the Gaziantep FK match played last evening, met with Turkish Football Federation (TFF) officials in Riva to discussBeşiktaş Club. Adalı, after the meeting, made statements to the press. Drawing attention to the decrease in the number of referees within the scope of the betting operation, PresidentPresident Adalı said, "Especially regarding these VAR referees, there is a shortage in the number of refereesdue to referee operations on one side.

Of course, we would desire and want to continue with our local referees on the pitch, and we trust them too. Especially, I want to emphasize thisas a formal request, if you will; we have conveyed to them our desire to start the second half with foreign VAR referees."

Reminding that foreign VAR was implemented last season, Adalı continued hisremarks bycontinued as follows:

"They should notbe under the impressionthatwewill not protect our rights.Forall communities, rightsand we are the community that seeks it most seriously. Our community'sminds should be at ease. We want to start the secondhalf with foreign VAR. I hope they evaluate this well. When foreign VAR was tested, noclub complained. The number of refereesistoohighdue tothe fact thatyou have dismissed 170-180 referees.There is only one logical path.Testing a referee with whom our community has issues is officially playing with fire."
