Serdal Adalı’s harsh criticism of the Central Referee Committee (MHK) after TFF visit: 'I will request an appointment with the President'

Beşiktaş Club President Serdal Adalı made harsh statements regarding referee management and the Central Referee Committee (MHK) following a meeting at the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) after their 1-0 away loss to Corendon Alanyaspor in the 2nd week of the Trendyol Süper Lig.

Meeting with TFF management at the Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities in Riva, Adalı voiced his criticisms regarding the physical intervention by Fidan Aliti on Leandro Trossard during the Alanyaspor match and the fact that the incident was not reviewed by VAR.

Targeting the MHK leadership, Adalı said, "As long as this MHK President remains here, unfortunately, Turkish football will not move a step forward." Stating that the federation has done some positive work, Adalı argued that referee controversies have overshadowed these efforts.

Reacting to the referee of the Alanyaspor-Beşiktaş match, Adnan Deniz Kayatepe, and VAR referee Bülent Birincioğlu, Adalı used the expression, "I cannot find a single word to say about that slapping incident." Adalı stated that he does not believe the decisions were made with good intentions.

FOREIGN VAR DEMAND ON THE AGENDA

Adalı also announced that they might request a foreign VAR for the Fenerbahçe-Beşiktaş derby to be played in the 4th week of the Süper Lig. Stating that he would discuss this issue with the Fenerbahçe side, Adalı said, "If Fenerbahçe also says 'yes', we have a demand for a foreign VAR."

The Beşiktaş President claimed that TFF officials also admitted that a mistake was made regarding the incident. Adalı stated, "They also admit it and say, 'We will do what is necessary.' I hope they do what is necessary."

Claiming that not only Beşiktaş but also clubs in different leagues are uncomfortable with referee management, Adalı said that many club presidents have called him. The black-and-white club's president said, "We are not the only ones complaining; this disgrace exists in the lower leagues as well."

WILL REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT WITH ERDOĞAN

Stating that he believes the TFF management has failed to take the necessary steps regarding the MHK President, Adalı said he wants to convey the issue to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the coming process. Adalı said, "I will request an appointment and I will present the situation the referees are in to our President."

"WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIX TROSSARD’S PSYCHOLOGY FOR 3 DAYS"

Expressing that Leandro Trossard was affected by the incident, Adalı made the statement, "We have been trying to fix Trossard’s psychology for 3 days." Adalı argued that what happened has damaged the brand value of the Süper Lig.
