Sevilla appoints Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta as head coach
Spanish LaLiga side Sevilla has appointed Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta as their new head coach.
Sevilla has announced that they have signed a 2-year contract with 49-year-old Spanish coach Pimienta to fill the managerial vacancy left by Quique Sanchez Flores.
Pimienta, who began his coaching career in Barcelona's youth academy, took charge of Las Palmas in 2022. Under Pimienta's management, Las Palmas finished the 2022-2023 second-division season in second place, earning promotion to LaLiga. This past season, Las Palmas managed to remain in LaLiga, finishing in 16th place with 40 points.
Sevilla, which exited the Copa del Rey in the quarterfinals and the UEFA Champions League in the group stage, finished the LaLiga season in 14th place with 41 points.
