Shaquille O'Neal wants to own an NBA team in Las Vegas!

O'Neal, who served as a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings from 2013 to 2022, has set his sights on owning an NBA team.

In an interview with Arash Markazi of The Messenger, O'Neal expressed his desire to form his own ownership group, noting that he is particularly interested in the idea of Las Vegas being awarded an NBA team:

"I would like to have my own ownership group. I know they don't have a team in Vegas yet, but if they ever get to a point where they are awarded a team, I would like to be a part of that. I don't want to partner with anyone. I want it all for myself.

I've been living in Las Vegas for over 20 years. I love it here. Las Vegas has always been a city where you know it's going to grow. You constantly see many different casinos, real estate projects, and nightclubs popping up. I've always been a part of those.

I used to own one of the most popular nightclubs, then I sold it, and now I have 9-10 restaurants here. I'm doing very, very well, and I want to continue growing with Vegas."

Besides O'Neal, another prominent NBA figure who has aimed to own a team in Las Vegas is Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who has previously stated his interest in the matter.
