The Turkish National Football Team, which faced Kosovo in the play-off final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, achieved a major success by securing a ticket to the World Cup after a long hiatus. The goal scored by Kerem Aktürkoğlu at the most critical moment of the match carried the national team to a happy ending on their journey to the finals. A great wave of joy spread across the country following this victory.
Sinan Akçıl, one of the prolific names in Turkish pop music, joined in the enthusiasm created by this success. Akçıl, who has composed countless hit works, announced in a message shared on his social media account that he would prepare a new anthem for the national team. He used the following expressions in his post: “I have 720 songs. We can say more than 500 are ‘hits,’ but if I write something like ‘Düm Tek Tek’ (Turkish-English), we will wave our flag in the world again... Let’s see, hopefully, if my mood is good and I can concentrate, we will do what is necessary. I also had a meeting with Mr. President İbrahim, and I have a valid promise to him as well.”
Stating that he had previously held a meeting with TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu regarding the matter, Akçıl is expected to begin preparations for the special anthem for the national team in the coming days.
