Sivasspor President Gökhan Karagöl announces his resignation

In a written statement, Karagöl announced his decision to step down from his role as president of Sivasspor Club, a position he stated he had held with great honor.

Arguing that his sole purpose since taking office had been to carry Sivasspor to the places it deserves, Karagöl stated that he had reached the conclusion that it would be more appropriate to hand over the duty at this point, both personally and in the best interests of the club.

Gökhan Karagöl noted the following in his statement:

"As a club that proudly represents the name of this city, our goal was to strengthen its respected position in Turkish football. We worked solely for this crest, without seeking any personal gain. Despite all the difficulties, fighting for Sivasspor and serving this community was a great honor for me. Today, when I look back, I believe that what we have done, the progress made, and the structure established will shed light on the future.

However, at the point we have reached, I have come to the conclusion that it would be more appropriate to hand over this duty, both personally and for the interests of our club. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my fellow board members who stood by me during this process, our technical team, our players, our club staff, and the great Sivasspor fans who never withheld their support under any circumstances. For me, Sivasspor is not just a club; it is a sense of belonging, a trust, and a matter of the heart. Although my duty ends today, the love and responsibility I feel for this crest will last a lifetime."
