He cited Pascal Nouma as an example for Skriniar: I would cancel his license
Kocaelispor Club President Recep Durul stated that clubs playing well in the Süper Lig are being stopped and that there is a cycle involving only 2-3 teams. Stating that things would go off the rails if the behavior of Fenerbahçe player Milan Skriniar becomes normalized, Durul cited the Pascal Nouma incident as an example regarding the punishment he believes should be imposed.
Kocaelispor Club President Recep Durul made a press statement following the training session where the team began preparations for the Beşiktaş match. Focusing primarily on the controversial referee decisions during the Fenerbahçe match and Milan Skriniar's obscene gesture toward the stands, Recep Durul reiterated that they will continue to raise their voices to cleanse Turkish football of such situations.
Club President Recep Durul said, "Kocaelispor has had 18 points stolen since the beginning of the season. Today, some circles and some malicious media outlets are saying that Kocaelispor has an insufficient squad, while others are revealing the truth. We were at the top of the league right now. When I spoke about nepotism before, I was trying to say that the real operation needed to be carried out here. No struggle regarding the management on the field, discrimination, or the usurpation of rights has reached a conclusion yet. Our federation is looking into these, but when will it be fixed, and how much longer must we be patient?"
"We talk when we come together, but it stays there, it doesn't reflect on the pitch"
Questioning the discrimination and bringing up the meetings held with the federation and clubs on this issue, Recep Durul said, "Is there any explanation for this? It incites the fans. They are playing with the fate of a large community. We talk with the federation president at the Union of Clubs, we come together and discuss. What we talk about stays there. In practice, it is not reflected on the green pitch in any way. Referees need to ensure justice without eating the rights of other teams. They create such a perception as if there are only 2-3 teams in the Süper Lig. There is a mindset that if we blow the whistle as they want, our future will be guaranteed. How can such a thing be! It is a shame for Turkish football," he criticized.
"A disciplinary penalty alone is not enough," he said, citing Beşiktaş as an example
Citing the Beşiktaş Club and the sanction applied to Pascal Nouma in the past as an example regarding the punishment they want to be imposed on Milan Skriniar, President Durul said, "There is social provocation in the immoral act committed by Skriniar. Our society will not tolerate this. There was an act that Pascal Nouma did before. The Beşiktaş Club punished it. I do not think that a disciplinary penalty alone will be sufficient. A heavier penalty should be given. Otherwise, someone else will do it tomorrow. How can we normalize this? If it normalizes, we will have gone off the rails. I hope the Fenerbahçe Club will also show the necessary sensitivity. If my player did this, I would cancel his license immediately," he stated.
"Why are managers given bans, but referees are not?"
Underlining once again that operations carried out against teams are ignored while betting operations are being conducted, Recep Durul asked the sports public, "There is a cycle built on 2-3 teams in Turkey, there is populism. Is the federation's current struggle in vain? When a manager speaks, actions are taken based on certain articles regarding the damage to the reputation of Turkish sports. Well, why are bans or other penalties not given to referees based on the article about damaging the reputation of football due to the mistakes they make, their intentional errors, and the discrimination of certain teams?"
"Clubs that play well in the Süper Lig are being stopped"
Making a reference to the disciplinary boards in the federation, Durul said, "Most of those on these boards in the federation are representatives of the clubs. Some make decisions in favor of their own clubs while deciding. I cannot give names right now. No matter what, we must pursue this. We played tremendous football yesterday, everyone saw it. We have been playing very good football since the beginning of the season. It strikes fear into some clubs. They take action to stop us. I am watching; whichever team plays well in the Süper Lig, they stop them. Why are their paths blocked? My faith is weakening day by day. We need to raise our voices and act collectively to prevent this."
"I hope we will have made a transfer within a few days"
Responding to the question about whether there will be any activity 4 days before the end of the mid-season transfer window, President Durul said, "Our transfer efforts continue within the framework allowed by the limits. We are talking to our coach. We have 4 days. It is a long time, not short. We are looking and evaluating. I hope we will have made a transfer within a few days. Even if we don't, our team is a truly strong team. Only our coach wants to make 1-2 transfers. He is being meticulous about this. If there are players he believes will contribute, we will try to add them. But if they won't contribute, there is no point in making a transfer for nothing. We saw how the team played last night. We played tremendously. We were stopped. Otherwise, we would have won the match."
"Let there be fair management, let the one who deserves it win"
Kocaelispor President Recep Durul finally touched upon the cup journey and the Beşiktaş match, saying the following:
"Our claim in the cup continues. Beşiktaş's claim also continues. It will be a beautiful struggle. The climate and atmosphere of cup matches are different. Since it is far from the mood of a league match, there can be some trouble with concentration. It has been like this for years. Teams play players who do not get much time more often. Our coach will do this too. Beşiktaş will definitely do this as well. I hope that there will be fair management for both teams and for football. We do not want discrimination, we want justice. We do not want discrimination under the guise of justice. Therefore, let there be justice for both teams, let the one who deserves it win. This is our expectation for all our matches. Beşiktaş is also a valuable community, a strong and large community. As in every club, we have beautiful friendships there too. I hope it will be a beautiful match. May the one who deserves it leave the field victorious."
