Spanish footballer Rodri wins the Ballon d'Or

The 2024 Ballon d'Or award, organized by UEFA and the French football magazine France Football, found its owner at a ceremony held at the Chatelet Theatre in Paris, the capital of France.

Rodri, who won the trophy at the 2024 European Championship with the Spanish National Football Team and reached the championship in the English Premier League with Manchester City, became the winner of the Ballon d'Or.

In the voting, Real Madrid's Brazilian footballer Vinicius Junior took second place, and English player Jude Bellingham took third place.

The award for the best female footballer was given to Spain National Team and Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati for the second consecutive time.

National footballer Hakan Çalhanoğlu was also among the 30 nominees for the award, which has been presented by France Football magazine since 1956. Hakan Çalhanoğlu ranked 20th in the footballer of the year voting.

ARDA GÜLER SECOND IN KOPA TROPHY

National footballer Arda Güler, who plays for Real Madrid, took second place in the Kopa Trophy, which is given to the best under-21 player of the season. Barcelona's Spanish forward Lamine Yamal was the winner of the trophy.

The Gerd Müller Trophy, awarded to the forward of the year, was shared by Real Madrid's French footballer Kylian Mbappe, who played for PSG last year, and English player Harry Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich.

The Lev Yashin award, given to the best goalkeeper of the year, was won by Aston Villa's Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

COACH OF THE YEAR IS ANCELOTTI

Real Madrid's Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti was deemed worthy of the men's coach of the year award.

English manager Emma Hayes, who coaches the US National Team, received the women's coach of the year award.

The club of the year award went to Real Madrid in the men's category and Barcelona in the women's category.

The Socrates Award was given to Spanish female footballer Jennifer Hermoso.
