National athlete Şahika Ercümen performed a special dive to mark the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
National athlete Şahika Ercümen unfurled the Turkish flag during a dive she performed in Antalya as part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the Republic.
The record-breaking athlete, along with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, started the "Open Sea Swimming Race for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" at Konyaaltı beach.
Following this, Şahika Ercümen set out to sea by boat with Mayor Böcek and his entourage for a special demonstration dive for the 100th anniversary of the Republic. After the dive, Ercümen unfurled the Turkish flag in the sea and celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
The national athlete stated that she was happy to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic with a dive in Antalya.
Mayor Böcek, who congratulated Şahika Ercümen, wished the athlete continued success.
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, Ercümen had previously set a world record on October 17 in Hatay by diving to 106 meters in the "constant weight without fins" category.
