Sports world in mourning: Horrific death
It has been announced that athlete Benjamin Kiplagat, who represented his country Uganda in the Olympic Games and World Championships, was stabbed to death in Kenya.
It has been reported that Ugandan athlete Benjamin Kiplagat was stabbed to death in Kenya. According to reports in the national press, 34-year-old Kiplagat was found dead inside a car near the town of Eldoret, Kenya.
TWO SUSPECTS APPREHENDED
It was stated that Kiplagat had stab wounds on his chest and neck. Stephen Okal, a Kenyan police official, noted in a statement that two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
MOTIVE FOR MURDER UNKNOWN
Okal said that one of the suspects was caught with a knife believed to be the murder weapon. While the reason for Kiplagat's murder is unknown, investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Kiplagat had represented Uganda internationally in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, including at various Olympic Games and World Championships.
