Statement from Fenerbahçe regarding foreign referees
Fenerbahçe has announced that it has officially submitted a request to the Turkish Football Federation for the remaining matches in the league to be officiated by foreign referees.
In a statement regarding the matter, the yellow-navy club said, "The positive contributions of the foreign referee team appointed by the Turkish Football Federation to the derby match played on February 24, 2025, to Turkish football have been observed by the majority of the sports public.
The fact that the same referee has been requested by some Süper Lig clubs for their own matches, both before and after the performance of the referee team in that match, is an indicator of the validity of our demands to date.
For this reason, we applied to the Turkish Football Federation on February 25, 2025, and officially conveyed our request for all remaining matches in the 2024-2025 season to be officiated by foreign referees.
In this context, we would like to inform the public that we welcome the desire of our rivals to have their matches against us officiated by foreign referees," the statement read.
