Statement from the TFF regarding Halil Umut Meler
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Central Referee Board (MHK) has issued a statement regarding the health status of referee Halil Umut Meler, who was injured during the UEFA Nations League match between the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria.
The Turkish Football Federation announced that FIFA-badged referee Halil Umut Meler has sustained an injury and that his treatment will begin following examinations to be conducted today.
'HE WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE THE MATCH'
Referee Halil Umut Meler was officiating the UEFA Nations League play-off match between the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria on Sunday, March 23, when he felt sudden pain in his left calf in the 37th minute and was unable to continue.
For the remainder of the match, fourth official Mehmet Türkmen served as the center referee.
