A statement regarding the national team has been made for the Belgian star Dries Mertens, who plays for Galatasaray.
Belgium National Team Head Coach Domenico Tedesco did not include Dries Mertens in the 26-man squad he announced on Friday.
Following this development, Tedesco responded to a question about a potential return for Mertens, alongside Toby Alderweireld, by saying, "Everything is possible; they are not completely out of our minds yet."
Mertens last wore the Belgium national team jersey at the 2022 World Cup.
The 36-year-old footballer has made a total of 109 appearances for the Belgium national team and has celebrated 21 goals.
