Statement on striker transfer from Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan stated that they are working on a striker transfer, saying, "We are working on transfers that are promising, can generate revenue for Trabzonspor in the future, and can also provide immediate benefit upon arrival. Let me say that. There are experienced alternatives, but there are also very good young alternatives. Unless there is a setback, it looks like it will be a young player."
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan made statements regarding head coach Fatih Tekke, whose resignation was not accepted by the board of the burgundy-blue club, and the club's transfer agenda. Emphasizing that it is difficult to find a striker that satisfies Tekke, Doğan said, "Unless there is a setback, it looks like it will be a young player."
Speaking to HT Spor, Doğan stated the following:
“Fatih Tekke is from Trabzon and is a Trabzonspor man. He looks at events differently; he experiences both joy and distress differently. The defeat at the end of the match... There was very poor refereeing. But this was a momentary decision. The nature of the Black Sea people, the different structure of Trabzon... We are slightly different people. It stemmed from Fatih Tekke's sadness. He has absolutely no ulterior motive, no bad intent; I am underlining this. He made such a momentary decision. It was not right, we spoke with him. He is already aware that this was wrong. Such things can happen in our city. Sometimes what comes out of our mouths is very different from what is in our hearts. This happens to me too. It happened to Coach Fatih as well.
"It is hard to satisfy my coach with a striker"
We are continuing our journey with Fatih Tekke. There is no problem. We are continuing our path in the Süper Lig, the Conference League, and the Turkish Cup. Our goal is the top in all competitions. Of course, it is hard to satisfy my coach with a striker. He was Turkey's greatest goalscorer. Therefore, regarding the striker issue with our coach... We are having trouble satisfying our coach with a striker. He, of course, out of good intentions and because he knows this business very well, rightly wants very good things. We are working on transfers that are promising, can generate revenue for Trabzonspor in the future, and can also provide immediate benefit upon arrival. Let me say that. There are experienced alternatives, but there are also very good young alternatives. Unless there is a setback, it looks like it will be a young player.
There is a certain group that is uncomfortable with the transfers Trabzonspor has made. They deliberately make these reports about things that do not exist in reality, without even looking at the figures or the players coming and going. Salah is an incredible character. He is one of our coach's greatest assistants."
