Statements from Dursun Özbek regarding Okan Buruk and Mauro Icardi

President Dursun Özbek expressed that they have already begun preparations for the upcoming season, stating, "On Saturday night, we won our 26th championship in total and our 4th consecutive one. We have left behind a difficult and beautiful year. I send my thanks to my fans, my technical staff, my players, and everyone who supported us. They shed light on our success during this tough season. Now it is time to celebrate our championship.

I call out to all my fans, enjoy it. Continue your celebrations to keep these beautiful days in your memories. As of today, we have started preparations for the new season. As you know, we will start directly from the league phase in the UEFA Champions League. For that reason, we have taken action with our technical team and scouting department to address any shortcomings we may have.

We want to surpass the success we achieved in the Champions League last season. That is why we started our work today. As you know, Galatasaray is the team of firsts and the bests.

Therefore, we are preparing for our 27th championship. Our goal will be to win our 5th consecutive and 27th overall title. I am working together with my colleagues. Hopefully, we will succeed," he said.

Responding to a question regarding the future of head coach Okan Buruk, Özbek said, "What is there to say about Okan Buruk? Coach Okan is a successful manager. He has won the championship four years in a row. He is a child of Galatasaray, a coach who grew up at Galatasaray. Therefore, he is always ready to serve Galatasaray. As an entire community, we love Coach Okan very much. Hopefully, he will continue to serve Galatasaray." he replied.

Speaking about Mauro Icardi's future at the club, Dursun Özbek stated, "The end of the season is already approaching. Icardi's contribution to Galatasaray is immense. He has done so much for Galatasaray. He even made a whole generation Galatasaray fans. I thank him very much. I will have a meeting with him in the coming days. We will discuss our conditions and wishes with each other. Icardi is an asset to us. As Galatasaray, I hope that the talks we will have with Icardi will yield good results." he expressed.
