Strong statement from Fenerbahçe! 'Our athlete has reported partial vision loss'

Fenerbahçe Beko announced that Yam Madar, who suffered a cut above his eye after a foreign object was thrown from the stands during the Beşiktaş Emlakjet match, reported partial vision loss following the game. The yellow-navy club also demanded that the person who threw the object be apprehended and punished.

"As is known, during the first half of the match played by our Men's Basketball Team, Fenerbahçe Beko, at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall on Saturday, December 2, one of the many objects thrown from the home team's stands struck our athlete Yam Madar on the head.

Our player, who had to go to the locker room during this period, continued to play in the second half of the match following the intervention of our medical team and his own strong desire to do so.

After the match, our athlete reported partial vision loss. Yam Madar's condition will be clarified following further examinations.

We convey our best wishes for a speedy recovery to our player Yam Madar and hope he regains his health as soon as possible.

Based on all these events that took place during a basketball game;

Aside from the constant swearing throughout the match, an environment that threatened the health of all individuals on the court was created by the countless objects thrown from the stands.

We condemn those who created this environment and the match officials who allowed the contest to continue even though it reached a point that caused an injury to one of our athletes.

From all individuals and institutions, primarily the Turkish Basketball Federation, whose main and primary responsibility is to ensure that such events do not occur in sports arenas, or if they do, to ensure they are ended immediately;

We expect the person or persons who caused this environment to be identified and given the necessary penalties,

And we expect the strictest measures to be taken and implemented to ensure that such shameful events do not happen again."
