It has been suggested that work has begun on the goalkeeper line at Trabzonspor ahead of the mid-season transfer window. It is alleged that the burgundy-blue club has added national goalkeeper Berke Özer, who plays for French Ligue 1 side Lille, to its agenda.
According to a report by Fotomaç, the Trabzonspor management has authorized an agent to conduct transfer negotiations. It was stated that the first contact has been established with Lille and that an offer prepared for Berke Özer has been submitted to the French club.
The report noted that the Lille management is not keen on the 26-year-old goalkeeper's departure, but that Trabzonspor is continuing its efforts. It was claimed that Berke Özer, due to the terms offered to him, is approaching the burgundy-blue club's proposal positively.
While it is stated that concrete developments in the transfer process could occur in January, no official statement has yet been made by either the Trabzonspor or Lille camps regarding the allegations.
It is noted that Trabzonspor, which re-loaned Andre Onana for one year at the beginning of the season, wants to create a domestic and long-term alternative in its goalkeeper rotation. The burgundy-blues entered the international break in 6th place with 10 points collected in the first 6 weeks of the Süper Lig.
Berke Özer was transferred from Eyüpspor to Lille at the beginning of last season for a transfer fee of 4 million 500 thousand euros. The national goalkeeper, who has a contract with the French club until 2029, has also played for Altınordu, Fenerbahçe, Westerlo, Portimonense, Ümraniyespor, and Eyüpspor in his career.
