Super Lig referee out for the season!
The TFF has announced that referee Ümit Öztürk, who was injured before the Kayserispor-Pendikspor match in the Super Lig, has undergone surgery on his right knee.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) had changed the referee for the match played in the 34th week of the Super Lig, in which Kayserispor defeated Pendikspor 2-1.
The federation had stated that Zorbay Küçük was appointed to replace the originally assigned referee, Ümit Öztürk, due to a health-related excuse.
It has been reported that Ümit Öztürk, who was unable to officiate the league match, has undergone surgery on his right knee.
"We wish Ümit Öztürk a speedy recovery"
The statement made by the Turkish Football Federation read as follows:
Our Super Lig referee Ümit Öztürk has undergone the necessary surgical intervention at the Private Acıbadem Fulya Hospital by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunay Erden due to a cartilage injury in his right knee. We wish Ümit Öztürk a speedy recovery.
