Support for Halil Umut Meler from Club World Cup referees
FIFA Club World Cup referees have released a message of support for Halil Umut Meler.
The referees officiating the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup, hosted by Saudi Arabia, have sent a message of support to referee Halil Umut Meler following the attack he experienced after the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match.
In a video shared on FIFA's social media account, the referees stated, "Hello Umut, as you can see, this big family officiating the FIFA Club World Cup final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is with you. Our friend, we are sending you lots of love."
Emphasizing that they are always by Halil Umut Meler's side, the referees added, "You belong to our family. We know what happened, and we want you to know that we are behind you and not to worry. Take care of yourself, stay strong. With love from Jeddah!"
In the final of the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, England's Manchester City and Brazil's Fluminense will face each other today at 21:00 TRT.
