All eyes in Fenerbahçe are on the extraordinary congress to be held on September 20-21. In addition to the current president Ali Koç, Sadettin Saran and Hakan Bilal Kutlualp have become candidates for the presidency. With only days left until the election, statements of support for Ali Koç came from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Ülkü Ocakları.
Making statements at the signing ceremony for Domenico Tedesco, Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç spoke for the first time regarding the support from the MHP and the Ülkü Ocakları.
Koç stated that he has a bond of affection with the MHP, but noted that such messages are not well received within the Fenerbahçe community.
Ali Koç's statements are as follows:
“My closeness to the MHP is a known fact. I have a bond of affection. I thank them for their support. But after that statement, many messages came saying, 'I wish such a statement hadn't been made.' Such things are not very well received in our community. I received many messages on this subject. But it happened, there is nothing to be done.”
