Galatasaray's star footballer Mauro Icardi made a notable social media post following the victory in which they defeated Trabzonspor 4-1 in the Super Cup. Icardi sent a heartfelt message of support to former Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. Deputy Chairman Erden Timur, who was detained and subsequently arrested.
Erden Timur, who was detained on December 26 as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations of betting and match-fixing, was arrested by court order on December 29 after the file was transferred to the Bureau of Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering.
Following these developments, the Argentine goalscorer shared a photo on his Instagram account taken in the locker room with Erden Timur during the cup celebrations.
He added the words, "I am always by your side and your family's side, Erden brother," to the photo, sharing his message of solidarity with his followers.
