Swimming for life below water

Bengisu Avcı from İzmir is known for being the first Turkish woman to swim across four different channels in the Oceans Seven, and she has now traveled to Ireland for her fifth crossing. Sponsored by the food supplement brand Sidrex, Avcı, nicknamed the "Ocean Girl," will begin swimming from the Donaghadee region of Ireland within the next two days, aiming to complete the 35-kilometer route to reach the shores of Portpatrick, Scotland. In this challenging swim, which is expected to take approximately 11 hours, Avcı will battle waters as cold as 13 degrees Celsius. Once she successfully completes the crossing, she will break her own record once again as the first Turkish woman to reach this level. The exact date of the swim will be determined based on sea and weather conditions.
