TBF imposes fines on Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe
The Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) Disciplinary Board has issued fines to Fenerbahçe Opet and Beşiktaş BOA due to incidents that occurred during the Women's Turkish Cup Final Four.
In a statement released by the TBF, it was announced that Fenerbahçe Club was fined 15 thousand liras due to "ugly and improper chants" caused by yellow-navy spectators during the Fenerbahçe Opet-ÇİMSA ÇBK Mersin match played in the Turkish Cup semifinals in Edirne.
It was reported that Beşiktaş Club was also fined 30 thousand liras due to "arena and spectator incidents" that occurred during the other semifinal leg between Beşiktaş BOA and Emlak Konut, as well as "ugly and improper chants" caused by the black-white fans.
It was also stated that Serhan Çetin, an official for Manisa Basket 1994 Sportif Faaliyetleri A.Ş, was handed a 1-match ban and a 90 thousand lira fine for "physical intervention reaching the level of assault" during the Manisa Basket Divissa-Türk Telekom match played in the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League.
