In the Ziraat Turkish Cup quarter-final match, Fenerbahçe faced Konyaspor away from home. The match, which ended in a goalless draw in regular time, saw the yellow-navies leave the pitch with a 1-0 defeat after conceding a goal in extra time. With this result, Konyaspor advanced to the semi-finals.
TEDESCO'S PENALTY COMMENT
After the match, Domenico Tedesco made statements to A Spor. Addressing the penalty incident, Tedesco said, "If VAR gives such a penalty, we must accept it; it means it is a penalty. The goal we conceded in the Rizespor match affected us. That is the reality. We did not see the spirit we wanted at the beginning of the match. As the match went on, we played better. We played our best game in the first half of extra time. We created chances. If you cannot score, you cannot advance to the next round. If you cannot score, you can concede. Therefore, you need to score."
DERBY PREPARATIONS AND ASENSIO
Touching on the derby process, Tedesco stated, "We must move on. The team will do its best in the derby. They have performed very well in big matches. First, we need to recover. They played 120 minutes. We played 1 day before Galatasaray, but we played this match for 120 minutes. We will have a few training sessions before the derby."
Speaking about Marco Asensio, Tedesco said, "I hope Marco Asensio will be ready for the derby. We need him. We plan for him to train individually tomorrow, and then with the team for 3 days."
