Tensions rose at the Clubs Association Foundation meeting. An argument that broke out between Fenerbahçe General Secretary Mahmut Uslu and Deputy Chairman Barış Göktürk, and Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım, escalated quickly. During the tension, which involved allegations of insults and threats, Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, and Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. Deputy Chairman Abdullah Kavukcu intervened to calm the parties down.
HEATED DEBATE AT THE FOREIGN PLAYER RULE MEETING
According to information provided by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, various agenda items, primarily the foreign player rule and broadcasting revenues, were discussed at the meeting. It is alleged that the tension began after Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım said, "Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Beşiktaş... You get free land from the state and make a world of money by selling these lands."
HARSH WORDS EXCHANGED
Allegedly, Mahmut Uslu responded to Yıldırım's words by saying, "We did not get free land from the state. Do not confuse us with Galatasaray." Upon this, it is stated that Yüksel Yıldırım used the expressions, "This is not the Canary Lovers Association. You will know your place," toward Uslu.
It is claimed that Fenerbahçe Deputy Chairman Barış Göktürk later joined the argument. Allegedly, addressing Yıldırım, Göktürk said, "Speak politely to someone older than you. You have never been beaten until today. I will beat you here in front of everyone. I will break your nose and mouth. I am also from Sivas. My son is also American. But I am not a convert like you. My father's name is also Yüksel, but he is not a convert like you. Be polite or I will bury you here."
OTHER CLUB PRESIDENTS INTERVENED
It was stated that the tension ended after other club presidents present at the meeting intervened. It was noted that the meeting continued after the parties were calmed down.
