TFF announces changes to the foreign player rule in the Süper Lig

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Board of Directors announced in a meeting held today that changes have been made to player eligibility in professional leagues. According to the decision, the number of foreign players in the Süper Lig will be 14 for the new season.

The Turkish Football Federation announced that, according to the decision taken at the board of directors meeting held today, the number of foreign players in the Süper Lig will be 14 for the new season.

The following statement was included in the announcement made by the TFF:

"The Turkish Football Federation Board of Directors decided at its meeting today to make changes to Player Eligibility in Professional Leagues.

Accordingly, in the Trendyol Süper Lig, the number of players on the A-Team List has been increased from 26 to 28, and it has been made possible to register 14 players who are not eligible to play for the Turkish National Team on the A-Team List. It was decided to continue the practice of allowing 12 of these players to be included in the match squad list.

In the Trendyol 1. Lig, the number of players who are not eligible to play for the Turkish National Team to be included in the A-Team List has been set at 8. It has been made possible for a maximum of 6 of these players to be on the pitch at the same time during the match.

It was decided that the Player Eligibility rules applied in the 2023-2024 season in the TFF 2. Lig and TFF 3. Lig will continue exactly as they are this season, with age adjustments made."
