TFF announces format change
The Turkish Football Federation has announced that the format of the Ziraat Turkish Cup has been changed.
The statement from the TFF is as follows:
The Ziraat Turkish Cup will be played in the 2025-2026 season with the participation of 155 teams in total, 139 of which are professional and 16 amateur. The Ziraat Turkish Cup, which will be organized in the form of 4 Qualifying Rounds, a Group Stage, and a Final Stage, will consist of 11 match weeks.
The Group Stage will be played in 3 groups of 8 teams. The 24 teams that will participate in the Group Stage will be divided into 4 pots of 6, and groups will be formed with the participation of 2 teams from each pot through a draw. In the Group Stage, each team will play a total of 4 matches, one against each team from every pot. 2 of these matches will be played at home and 2 away.
Following the group matches, a total of 8 teams, consisting of the 6 teams that finish their groups in the top 2 and the 2 best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, the group winners and the best group runner-up will be seeded, and the matches will be played at the home grounds of the seeded teams. The semifinal pairings and host teams will be determined as a result of the draw to be held.
