TFF Arbitration Board upholds Galatasaray's penalties

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Arbitration Board has rejected Galatasaray's appeal against the penalties announced by the Professional Football Discipline Committee (PFDK) on February 22 and upheld the decisions.

TFF Arbitration Board upholds Galatasaray's penalties

The decisions taken by the TFF Arbitration Board after reviewing the files on its agenda during its meeting dated March 01, 2024, numbered (13), are as follows:

"Galatasaray's appeal against the PFDK decision dated 22.02.2024 and numbered E.2023-2024/815 - K.2023-2024/1027 was examined. As a result of the deliberation;

It was decided unanimously to reject the application and uphold the decision, as it was understood that there was no inaccuracy in terms of proof, legal qualification, and determination of the penalty regarding the fine of 112 thousand TL imposed on Galatasaray in accordance with Article 52/2 of the FDT due to field incidents caused by its fans,

It was decided by majority vote to reject the application and uphold the decision, as it was understood that there was no inaccuracy in terms of proof, legal qualification, and determination of the penalty regarding the fine of 195 thousand TL imposed on Galatasaray in accordance with Article 49/3 due to the failure to keep stairwells empty and this action being committed for the 4th time in the same season,

It was decided unanimously to reject the application and uphold the decision, as it was understood that there was no inaccuracy in terms of proof, legal qualification, and determination of the penalty regarding the fine of 260 thousand TL imposed on Galatasaray in accordance with Article 53/2 of the FDT due to ugly and bad chants caused by its fans, and this action being committed for the 5th time in a match where it was the guest club, and the blocking of the electronic tickets of the spectators located in the Guest Tribune 407 block who engaged in ugly and bad chants in accordance with Article 53/3 of the FDT, thereby preventing their entry to the next match where the club is the guest."
