TFF Arbitration Board upholds permanent ban for Faruk Koca

In a statement released on the TFF's website, it was noted that the appeal filed by Koca, who was handed a permanent ban by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board due to his assault on referee Halil Umut Meler following the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match, has been reviewed.

It was reported that the 5-year ban imposed on Faruk Koca for acting against instructions, assaulting the match referee, making threats, and causing a pitch incident was reduced to 400 days.

Furthermore, it was stated that Faruk Koca was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months of banishment because his assault on the match referee also caused pitch incidents. It was noted that because Faruk Koca's total sentence exceeds 3 years, the permanent ban remains in effect.

While the penalty of playing 5 official home matches behind closed doors imposed on MKE Ankaragücü due to pitch incidents was upheld, it was stated that their 2 million lira fine was reduced to 560 thousand lira. The yellow-navy club was also reported to have been fined 200 thousand lira for ugly and improper chanting.

It was stated that the 75-day ban and 140 thousand lira fine imposed on MKE Ankaragücü administrator Cahit Şahin were upheld. It was also reported that Yusuf Buğra Tanık's ban was reduced from 45 to 21 days, and his fine was reduced from 210 thousand to 100 thousand lira.
