Reaction from TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi: 'Some executives have brought violence, profanity, and chaos to the forefront...'

Turkish Football Federation President Mehmet Büyükekşi joined a live broadcast on TRT Spor and made statements regarding both the Ziraat Turkish Cup and the agenda of Turkish football.

When asked, "If you continue in your role, do you have managerial plans to provide convenience for our teams to be successful in Europe next season?" Büyükekşi replied, "We can talk about those later. I am not in a very suitable situation right now. If you like, let me talk about the Trabzonspor - Beşiktaş match on Thursday."

Touching upon the cup match, Büyükekşi said, "Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor will play in the final. We hope that both of our clubs will respect their opponents and play the match in a spirit of sportsmanship. We held a meeting at the TFF with the presidents of both our clubs. They wished for a match held in peace and friendship."

Continuing his remarks by saying, "I am specifically underlining this," Büyükekşi stated, "Unfortunately, this season we encountered undesirable behavior from club executives in some matches. Football is the most popular sport in the world. Some club executives, forgetting that it is a game that demonstrates friendship and brotherhood, have brought more violence, profanity, chaos, and threats to the forefront. They have dragged down the brand value of football. We want to move away from these as soon as possible and have the concepts of friendship, peace, brotherhood, and entertainment, which should be the case, come to the fore. For society to be in unity, solidarity, and brotherhood on this issue, all stakeholders need to be together. I invite the entire football family to act in this manner."

Büyükekşi expressed his wishes, saying, "Based on this, we are expecting 60-70 thousand spectators tomorrow. We will distribute 50 thousand Turkish flags to our fans. We will create an environment where the sportsmanship of the Turkish nation will come to the fore in a spirit of friendship and brotherhood, and where concerts, shows, and dance groups will perform a program before the match.
