Abdullah Ayaz, who served as the secretary general at the Turkish Football Federation, has resigned. The resignation, which Ayaz submitted on October 5, 2026, was announced to the public by the federation on Wednesday.
Ayaz, who took office during the TFF presidency of İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, had previously been at the center of criticism due to allegations that he was Hacıosmanoğlu's nephew. Hacıosmanoğlu, for his part, had stated that it was natural for him to work with people he trusts.
It was suggested that Ayaz had been going through a difficult period recently due to controversies with certain members of the board of directors. However, Ayaz said that his decision was not sudden and should not be evaluated in connection with the current agenda.
This process formed after an accumulation. It has nothing to do with the current situation. President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu was also aware of my resignation. In other words, it is not a decision taken against his will.
It was noted that Ayaz had traveled to the match played against Belgium but returned to Turkey on the day of the match in Italy.
In the statement made by the TFF, it was stated, "We thank Mr. Abdullah Ayaz for his dedicated work to date and wish him continued success in his future career."
