Following the "Referees file" investigation into the Central Referee Board (MHK), a new process regarding referee management at the Turkish Football Federation is becoming clear.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, five people, including MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu, were arrested. Following Gündoğdu's arrest, Anthony Taylor, the MHK Elite Referee Director, made the referee appointments for the 7th week matches of the Süper Lig.
According to a report by HT Spor, the English referee Taylor will continue his duties in Turkey until the end of the season. It was stated that Taylor would take over referee management together with former referee Alan Snoddy.
The report stated that while the English Football Association had different plans for Taylor, an agreement was reached for him to serve in Turkey through a mutual consensus based on good faith between the parties.
It was also noted that the opinion and support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation were sought during the process, and that UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin is providing support for the development of refereeing in Turkey.
