A new legal process has begun in the dispute over luxury box number 217 at the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex. According to information obtained, an application has been made to the court for the fourth time regarding the box, which is stated to belong to businessman Acun Ilıcalı.
It has been learned that this application follows three previous ones made by the Fenerbahçe Sports Club that were rejected. Thus, the file in the long-standing luxury box dispute between the club and Ilıcalı has been brought to the judiciary once again.
At the beginning of the process, it was stated that following Aziz Yıldırım's election as president, the rental fees for the luxury boxes in the stadium were reviewed; Ilıcalı's box, located at the midfield position, was cancelled and converted into the "Fenerbahçe Presidential Box".
Acun Ilıcalı, on the other hand, filed a lawsuit, arguing that the box for which he had paid the fee was taken from him unlawfully. In a statement made at the High Council, Yıldırım had said that the box did not belong to him personally, but to the presidential office.
According to information reflected in the press, the court decided on August 19, 2026, to return the box to Ilıcalı and to prevent its transfer to third parties until the end of the 2026-2027 season. With the new application, how the dispute will conclude has become a matter of curiosity.
