The heart of European basketball will beat in Riga this year

FIBA EuroBasket, one of Europe's most prestigious basketball tournaments, is meeting basketball fans for the 42nd time this year.

August 27 - September 14, the championship will be played in four different European countries, and after the group matches, it will be crowned with the final stage in Latvia's capital, Riga.

LATVIA: THE NEW HUB OF EUROPEAN BASKETBALL

Located in the Baltic region of Europe, Latvia will not only host EuroBasket this year but will also stand out as the city where the final stage is held.

Riga, which draws attention with its modern sports arenas, advanced infrastructure, and interest in basketball, is preparing to welcome teams from all over Europe and thousands of basketball enthusiasts.

Latvia is among the countries on the rise in basketball in recent years. Interest in Latvian basketball is steadily increasing, especially thanks to stars like Kristaps Porzingis who play in the NBA. With its historical structures, architecture reflecting Baltic culture, and vibrant social life, Riga will offer cultural richness alongside sports throughout the tournament.

THE FINAL EXCITEMENT WILL BE EXPERIENCED IN RIGA

Group stages will be played in the cities of Limassol (Cyprus), Tampere (Finland), Katowice (Poland), and Riga (Latvia). However, the final stage, where the champion will be determined and Europe's best basketball nations will compete fiercely, will take place at the Riga Arena. This makes Riga the most important stop of the championship.

STRONG SQUADS, GREAT EXCITEMENT

Among the countries in the first pot are Serbia, ranked second in the world; 2023 FIBA World Cup champion Germany; 2024 Paris Olympics runner-up France; and reigning European champion Spain. These powerful teams will take the stage at EuroBasket 2025 with the continent's best players.

Another remarkable aspect of the tournament is that Cyprus will be participating in the tournament for the first time. Additionally, Iceland, Latvia, Portugal, and Sweden will take part in the tournament as countries returning to the European Championship.
