The Sultans of the Net in economy class again

The A National Women's Volleyball Team has traveled to Poland for the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Nations League final stage. Having completed the league stage of the tournament with 8 wins, 4 losses, and 23 points in 12 matches, the Crescent-Stars advanced to the quarterfinals by finishing 6th in the overall standings. The national team will face Japan on July 24th and compete for a spot in the semifinals.

THEY FLEW IN ECONOMY CLASS, BACKLASH GREW

The fact that the Sultans of the Net traveled in economy class on their way to Poland ahead of the tournament's quarterfinals has caused a stir on social media. Images of the national athletes sitting in cramped seats were met with significant backlash from users. The question, "Is the European champion deserving of this treatment?" was among the most shared comments on social media.

THE SAME DEBATE HAD OCCURRED DURING THE USA TRIP

This situation brought to mind the national team's previous trip to the USA. The Women's Volleyball Team, which traveled to America for the second stage matches of the 2024 FIVB Nations League, had also flown on a scheduled flight in economy class during that trip, sparking a major public debate.
