Later, the Italian head coach, who experienced a European championship for the first time with the national team, also led the national team to the championship in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Qualifiers. With this success, the national team also earned the right to participate in the Olympics.

The national team has achieved 28 victories in the 31 matches they have played under Santarelli's management. Wanting to continue their winning streak, Santarelli aims to win the first tournament of this year and become champion again consecutively.
