The two presidential candidates of Fenerbahçe made statements regarding the accusations they leveled against each other during a live broadcast they attended.

Aziz Yıldırım, who occasionally brought up statements made about the previous era, told Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç that his rhetoric about withdrawing from the league was incorrect and harmful to the team.

Ali Koç stated that he never made such a remark and that he only said they would take such action if the appropriate conditions were met. Aziz Yıldırım said he would find the footage and send it to Ali Koç.

Although Koç claimed he did not use the phrase 'we will withdraw from the league' in clear terms, a video shared on social media shows Koç using the expression 'we will drop to the lower league'.

Here is that statement made by Ali Koç regarding Fenerbahçe's withdrawal from the league:

"We will now cut our own umbilical cord ourselves, and if necessary, we will drop to the lower league! When you make this decision, dropping to the lower league is on the table because... We might die once instead of dying every day, but we have to save our future; we might play for one year and come back up, but enough is enough...

If you treat us like an ostracized club of this country, then we have to determine our own destiny; this is clearly not blackmail"
